She had it coming

What the heck are these? Really. I mean I was having a hard time not giggling. I have a seriously bad habit of being a People of Walmart type of sneaky picture taker. Bad, shame on me but really, but these pants had matching "pink patches" on the ass too. Girl, you had it coming, I am tempted of posting the not so babe like girl who had "BABE" in sequined or rinestone {whatever, all over the top} STREEEETCHED across her chest at the gym. Clearly too small for her. If anyone catches me wearing something gawd awful, just tell me!!! {Seriously}

Its kinda like those girls who really shouldn't be wearing oh so tight painted on sweats that say like "BOOTYLICOUS" or "SEXY" on the back. Yeah, just don't do it. Ever, even if you are sexy, or bootylicious, just don't.

Oh Snap

Mine are SORE! Whatever I did, HURTS!
Job well done I suppose! No pain no gain!

More Mud Run

Boot Camp

AH, finally got my arse out of bed and made it to the 630 boot camp. We did:
50 jacks
25 squats
150 Burpees
4 sets of 25 medicine ball slams
25 medicine ball crunches

And typically we would run after but not today.
Good thing cause I was struggling. I haven't been feeling 100% since Saturdays race. I actually was seriously dehydrated which led to a migraine then puking for hours, and in bed for almost 24 hours. Not awesome. Stupid me didn't drink or eat before the race. Boy I learned my lesson.

Oh and which reminds me, I have another 5K on July 4th bright and early, its the Firecracker 5000. Were gonna bring the whole fam. I'm totally excited to have someone to cheer me on at the finish line! If I can I'm going to do the 1 mile fun run with my older 2 boys, if its not the same time as the 5K.
Boy I hope they take on running early, that would be awesome.
I wouldn't call my self a "runner" but boy I enjoy a 5K (and especially if it includes mud, and obstacles) am hope soon this fall I can work up to a 10K (with good time) If i start swimming (and find a freaking bathing suit) I am considering working up to a triathlon.
Recently a friend told me I'm competitive. Yes, winning is great but I love finishing, and I love finishing FASTER than my previous times in races. It shows that I'm improving, so in that aspect yes I am competitive with myself, and making goals. I'm proud of it, and its something that I thoroughly enjoy (when I drink enough water) and its something for ME, not my kids not my husband just ME. I suppose its better than gambling
Have a super fabulous day

Hooray

I've at least maintained my weight. Im not gaining so that is awesome. 113 feeling great and confident! Havent been able to go to Boot Camp, so im gonna try my hardest to get my bootay out of bed @5 am tomorrow and go (AKA, make my husband drag me out of bed)
Today I did some cardio (ran, as always), crunch time, (damn v-sits are killer, I will master them instead of bitching) some sauna time, nothing like leaving a big sweaty mess on the sauna wood benches of your thighs and butt while the sweat drips off your nose! Sexy right? I think so.  Then I attempted 1/2 the RIPPED class. Wasn't too impressed, as it involved coordination in the warm up. Sigh, me plus exercise and coordinating movements equals a major fail, so I end up standing there aimlessly pissed off. Which reminds me, Im really pissed that 24 Hour Fitness doesnt have a STEP Aerobics class. Man, I miss that class, boy what a shame. Maybe if I put in enough suggestions to the website, maybe they will add one {wishful thinking..}

Patriot Game Obstacles

My Shower Hates met

Today I woke up nice and well rested, thanks to my new prescription to ambien (due to night terrors, a little old for those I know..)
Got to the race WAY early, good thing cause its was a big cluster ____. You will in the blank. It was the first race they organized so I guess ill give them that.
Met with a fellow racer from Survival Race back in April & another new racer, whom I'm sure ill be racing with again.
First off, the line was outrageously long, and packets for preregistration weren't even together (and they have been advertising this event for months now, hello)
They didn't have enough, or all of there chip timers, and THERE WAS NO WHISTLE, HORN, GUN SHOT, or anything at the beginning of the heat times.
I just luckily realized everyone started and caught up.
I didn't wear any silly costume or dress up funny, although I strongly suggest it because you will get more photos taken of you. (And there were not many photographers at each obstacle, disappointing...)
Anyway, I ran and ran and ran, and didn't let my tired weak legs stop, I was pretty proud. Several times throughout the race people were walking and I always encouraged them to keep going, at the end of the race someone thanked me for it to. It was a good feeling.
I finished 3rd over all female and 1st in my age group! 28:12, NOT BAD, but not great. I KNOW I can do better, but considering there were I think like 12 obstacles and I had to swim through as nasty pond (gag, I hate water) I think I did well.
Nice but bent over on the right haha

2 more wake ups

And its MUD RUN time!
I cant stinking wait, I really hope the heat isn't too much of a beating.
I mean ill be covered in mud, water & grime anyway so I should stay fairly cool!
If you ever have the opportunity to run one, DO IT!
They usually have Groupons so you can save 1/2 off,
unfortunately I registered really early and it didn't apply to me!
{SUCK} Anyway, wish me luck!
::Be checking for my time and pictures early next week::

Caught on Camera

You know when you give your kid your iPhone to play with you always get funny pictures of random stuff on it. Well other than the 4,188 pictures of his shoes, when I brought my little one to bootcamp with me he snapped a bazillion photos of me working out LOL.
Partner sit ups with medicine balls
toe reaches with medicine ball

awesome bear crawl (sigh)

Outside my Comfort Zone!

I realllllly want to get outside of my bubble of running and weights and venture to the
duuun duuun dunnnn:
world of:
:::kickboxing/turbo kick:::
as well to my routine at the gym.
However THIS GIRL is totally and utterly retarded when it comes to coordination.
I'm lucky that I can even do a clean and press correctly
let alone follow super fast paced bouncing around while kicking and punching air.
So with that said I think I'm going to bite the bullet and try.
Ill post how many minutes I lasted tomorrow teehee

I may have

a FLABBY ASS but my stomach is close to a 6 pack!
im having a hard time keeping on track with eating
(who doesn't, right)
but i know i'm deff not over eating!
i have my 5k mud run saturday and i'm totally excited even though im going solo
{{bummer}}
i hope to have some awesome pictures from it.
they are supposed to have a few professional photographers there!
:: wish me luck ::

Anxiety Pills

Didn't work for me. So I decided making the gym an absolute must every morning. It is a stress reliever for sure. When I do my days are amazing, when I don't, they are a train wreck. I currently am only taking sundays off, so those can be my shitty days, but its okay 1 out of 7 isn't horrible right? Try it for a week and see how your new

holy cow

This morning I skipped bootcamp because I had serious night terrors (whats new?) and with the bad storm, lucky for me the power was out at the warehouse anyway so I went this evening.
This morning when I tried to hit up the 24 Hour Fitness for R.I.P.P.E.D class their power was out too. Are you kidding me??
I was bound and determined to get my work out on, so I headed to the other side of town and made it to class just in the nick of time and squeezed a 1 mile sprint in before it started.
I didnt eat so fantastic today so I knew making it to this evenings bootcamp class was essential.

it ended with me peeling off my shirt because
i was literally soaking in my own sweat.
thats is a disgusting and amazing feeling rolled into one for me.
because i know i worked my ass off!
love it.
We worked out with sand bags the entire time.
45 secs /15 sec rest
sandbag shoulders
sandbag burpees
sandbag squats
- sprints - aka, try to run cause your legs feel like jello
I was ready for a run after my legs regained feeling,
but thought id save my energy
to stand long enough to take a shower when I got home!
Good nite.

Good Morning

even though i slept terribly this little man always cheers me up
now were off to the gym!

I would highly NOT recommend it.
my body feels like shit
and i didnt even eat that bad honestly.
anyway, im off to the gym this morning to burn all that nasty food out of my system!
super frustrated with the length of my hair.
cant pull it back cause its so short.
what i would give for a pony tail during a work out.
maybe in another few months....
have a fabulous day!

Slang

Thinking of some new things to post on here, I thought about doing "Locker Room Talk"
consisting of things I observe or encounter while I'm there that might make you giggle ...or wonder..

In the mean time heres a few funny Urban words I thought were funny.

Gym Bunny:
a female with more tits than knowledge about exercise, who wears the most expensive gear out there, and only goes to the gym to "do abs" and cardio

January Joiner:
a person who joins a gym as a new years resolution but may or may not continue going after the early months of the year.

Gyn Snail:
The sweat mark left on gym equipment by your ass when you get up

Gym Rape
Being forced to go to the gym when you don't want to

Yogatude:
holier-than-thou attitude seen in serious yoga students who are more flexible and vaguely spiritual than everyone else. (***This is so true. Sorry if you like yoga, but there is some major 'tude going on)
Yogathlete:
a person who's so into yoga that they treat it like professional sport.

Gymbership:

is the monthly payment you make to the Gym that you never go to. Also known as "Fat Tax"

Gymdicapped:
The burn after a hard workout at the gym it usually lasts a day or two. When you are gymdicapped moving around is harder czuse all or some of your muscles are sore.

Work out Face:
The disfigured face that someone makes when they're lifting heavy weights at the gym.

Sweatstashe:
When one has sweat gathered above their upper lip.

Water Challenge Part 2

**Im at 60 already for the day
but about to take my 16 ounce shake
then 20 more ounces before bed

The obvious benefit of drinking water is that it replenishes an ingredient that is essential to our body. Almost 60% of your body is comprised of water, so how can it not be important? In the course of a day, our body depletes itself of water through urine, sweat, and normal cellular activity. Lack of adequate water slows down our metabolism and interferes with healing, toxin removal, removal of old cells and replacement with new tissue. Therefore, drinking plenty of water is an important part of both daily life and toxic cleansing.

How much water should I drink?
The answer to this question initially surprised me. At a minimum, to prevent dehydration, you should drink (in ounces) the number of pounds of your body weight divided by two. To calculate the number of 8 ounce glasses you should drink per day, divide your body weight in pounds by 16 and round up. For example, if you weigh 160 pounds, you should be drinking 10 glasses of water, each 8 ounces.

If you are dehydrated, you should see an immediate benefit of drinking water. First, your bowel movements should become more regular. Next, if you are prone to breakouts, these should clear up. Notice how your skin is less dry? And these are only a few of the visible benefits of drinking water.

Cheers

{excuse the unmade bed and sloppy hair, I mean its before 7 am and i've already got my work out in and made a shake, hello...}

The shakes alone are NOT awesome, so I had to figure a way to get them down.
So here it is
1 scoop Blueberries and Creme
1 scoop Vanilla
1 hand full strawberries
cup of ice
cup of water (more of less) till you reach thickness you desire

PS. You know your guilty of weighing yourself first thing in the morning, after you pee, butt naked while you suck in. Well I do anyway, but last night I weighed myself after consuming 80 ounces of water I thought for sure it would be a disappointing number but I was at 113!
Sweet
Motivation to get my ass up at 5am to Boot Camp since the husband has a game tonight I wouldn't make it to the night session.
Week 1 Results of Fit Test:
2 minutes of each
push ups: 45
sit ups (unassisted) 70
squats 100
Measurements:
Bicep 10.5
Chest 34
Waist 26.5
Hips 31.5
Thigh 21
Calves 13.5

Water Challenge

I challenge you to kick out bad soda/tea habits !!!

Its recommended 64 ounces of water a day.
Today I hit 80!!!
holy potty break central during class this evening
Not to mention some seriously clear pee
{TMI? < Get over it, its just pee}
I am only drinking water,
and a combination of my shakes x2 a day
If you get board with that--
add some - or a lot
nom nom nom
Instead of ordering soda or tea at restaurants
ill ask for lemons and make lemonade minus the sugar,
so I get a little flavor in my drink

GNC Blender Bottle Review

I bought these shaker bottles from GNC buy one get one half off, and with the Gold Star Purchase Card (which I totally recommend getting- I think its like $15.00, and you get 20% on top of the already low prices and BOGO deals)
They are totally leak proof and my husband and I really like them. I also use them for just my water bottle without the little Stainless steel Blender Ball thingy when I run or work out.

Favorite exercise today & my "healthier than normal" lunch

I really like these, with hand weights or barbell! Just make sure your back is flat and you don't bend your head down.
*No BootCamp for me today, heavy sigh, I have school tonight, double sigh, and totally slept through my alarm clock for the 630 am class. Suck. But I did hit the gym, so its not like I was lazy!

My Healthier than Normal Lunch:
1 small grilled chicken breast lightly seasoned sliced
1 piece provolone cheese
hand ful of grapes
1/3 big red bell pepper stripes
and i'm stuffed

Story of my Life

This is about my life, daily. And after he proceeded to DUMP my ENTIRE tub of Lean Shake mix onto the entire kitchen., dining and living room, he rolled in it like it was money! THEN after I bath the sticky mess off of him, and begin to clean up the mix which was like a volcanic eruptions leaves ashes all over the city- it did that in my entire house (How would i know about volcanic ash, being stationed in Sicily Italy for 5 years with often eruptions of Mt.Etna, thats how...) Anyway so while i'm cleaning up, he proceeds to dump brothers cereal bowl of milk and soggy cinnamon toast crunch onto my couch. Boy he really knows how to make my day start out amazing. Luckily I had enough time to half ass clean, sweep and mop the floors, bath him, change him into new clothes, and get to the gym all before 9am. And now I feel great.

On another note, my shake was DISGUSTING, I think honestly cause I blended a banana in it. What was I thinking, I hate banana flavor. YUCK. I should have just eaten it separate. Hoping it will go down better with just the water it calls for. Good news though, during class for the first time while lifting weight I really saw some definition in my arms & shoulders!
(Today was Muscle Blast, which is just Hand weights, barbells and your own body weight will be used to help you develop muscular strength for the upper and lower body)
My hard work is finally starting to pay off. I feel like my arms are toning up nicely, and i'm excited to start building some muscle. Plus i'm down 1 pound. Go me!

And lastly the count down to Patriot Games Mud Run is: 9 days!
Hoping to be under 30 minutes. Its only a 5K but the water, mud and obstacles add time!
I can do it!

Healthy Lifestyle Change

Since the gyms not cutting it 6 days a week. I guess ill have to give in and change my eating habits if I'm gonna toss this extra weight. Hubby grilled me a ton of chicken breast to eat for dinner this week, and ill be doing that long with steamed veggies, and my shakes. Hope I can get them down, I hate shakes blugh!
It will be these meal replacement shakes and this new be-Hot product. And we have a super discount deal at the bases GNC and our discount card so I got these for a steal!
Fit test for boot camp is Thursday, along with measurements. I don't want to even see them, blah but I am excited to see them in a month when I trim down and build some muscle! My core is so sore from Mondays core class, and my legs were instantly tired and worn out after this mornings class. Ah working out is entirely refreshing, even tho you leave disgusting and sweating, it feels all sorts of amazing. Its a high for me. If I don't start my day at the gym, it screws everything up and I'm a super b to the itch (bitch). So let me just do my thang in the morning then my day can start- for your sake.
Oh and today's power throws (well slams for me) you get a medicine ball and hold behind your head and slam it in front of you on the floor, while bending knees then catch it and repeat. Ahhhh talk about some aggression release. I was literally growling, oh I'm so tough!
Do you work out? You should!

Medicine Ball Slam
Medicine balls are a great way to build explosive strength and power in the upper body (think passing a basketball, returning a serve in tennis or lunging for that elusive hand hold on the climbing wall).

• Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent.
• Hold a 10- to 15-pound medicine ball above your head with both hands.
• In one explosive motion, forcefully throw the ball down on the floor as hard as you can.
• Catch the ball on the rebound and repeat, maintaining your form with each rep.
