I'm Danielle, and I'm 26 almost 27 years old Military wife and mom of three incredibly demanding little boys (ages 2, 4 & 6).
The name of my blog "Fit Dani and No Nanny" is simple.
I'm keeping fit, and taking care of my family all at the same time!
It's
possible.
As a stay at home mom, I completely understand getting caught up in being a mom and forgetting to take care of yourself. Being a wife, mom, full-time college student, room mom, volunteer, among all my other commitments I am busy! My husband was deployed for an extended amount of time, and I became inactive (fitness wise), unmotivated, and only eating crap. I lost a lot of weight, and become unhealthy. My weight was considerable low, but I wasn't "fit". When he returned I gained 15 pounds, eating out, and not being active-- I got lazy because he was home to pick up my slack.
While my original motivation was to lose weight to look better in a bikini for an upcoming vacation, I found my passion: running. I did my first 5K Mud Run with a group of military wives, and from there I was hooked. I crave the finish lines, and to see my finish times. While its not long distances, I get on a incredible high while racing. I am determined to finish-- and finish faster every time. Between races, I work out and utilize group fitness classes, and mix it up with lots of cardio at my local gym.
I also just joined a running group, to help me run longer distances, and pace myself. It is amazing how different my day is without starting with some form of exercise. Without it, my day sucks.
I have learned making fitness and clean(er) eating a priority, it gives me the energy needed to juggle all my commitments, with a fantastic mood. (Unless I'm PMSing)
It is difficult to make exercise and better eating habits a routine, but once its a priority, I promise you will feel better physically and
your body will change, and you will feel better, and it becomes a habit, and not a burden. It doesn't happen over night, but you didn't get unhealthy overnight either.
Stick with it, and you will see results.
You are stronger than you think you are.
I challenge you to make fitness a priority, not only for you, but as an example to your children, family, spouse and friends!
